non-linear seismic behavior of concrete beam - column connections
Authors
abstract
a parametrik investigation was conducted to study the non-linear behavior of precast and cast-in-place reinforced concrete beam-column connections subjected to tabas seismic forces (1979). the behavior of these types of connections in a four stories structure with respect to strength, ductility , stiffness, and bond deterioration at the joint core are presented and discussed. calculation results indicated that in the cast-in-place connections the maximum principal stresses, located at the vicinity of the joint core. at this location, the most critical stress was tensile. in the case of precast reinforced concrete beam-column connections the results showed that the maximum principal stress occured at the joint core interior and the tensile stress at this section was more than of other parties of joint.

Seismic behavior of drilled beam section in moment connections
Abstract: Reduced Beam Section (RBS) and Drilled Beam Section (DBS) are seismic moment resistant frame connections, introduced after 1994 Northridge earthquake. RBS connection has been tested under cyclic loading and showed acceptable performance. In this paper, seismic behavior of Drilled Beam Section (DBS) connection is studied numerically using finite element method. A drilled beam section ...

full textNumerical Analysis of Cyclic Behavior of Beam-To-Column Bolted Connections in Steel Frames
This article considers the seismic behavior of beam-to-column joints in steel frames for different bolt arrangements by using of finite element modeling. As the most important beam-to-column joint type, the beam-to-column joints with end-plate is chosen for the analysis. Four different specimens have been analyzed. These models had some differences such as bolt arrangement and the presence or a...
full textSeismic Behavior of Steel Reinforced Concrete Beam-Columns and Frames
The ability to perform accurate nonlinear simulations is a key component in the assessment of the behavior of seismic force resisting systems. A three-dimensional distributed plasticity formulation for composite beam-columns suitable for nonlinear static and dynamic analyses of composite seismic force resisting systems has been developed. New uniaxial constitutive relations are developed for th...
